Born in Rome on 6 February 1960, he spent his childhood in Istanbul, where he began to paint at the age of eleven under the guidance of master Erol Sarafyan.  In 1977 he obtained the 2nd prize for painting at the Fifth Biennial of Art for Students, organized by the INA-Touring  at Palazzo Strozzi (Florence) with a work inspired by Raffaello Sernesi.  He published the collections of poems "Life of a Hero"  (1985) and "Songs of Night" (2003) for the publishing house Luigi Battei of Parma.  In 1989 he obtained a degree in Literature from the University of Rome "La Sapienza" with a dissertation on the Turkish Symbolist poet Ahmet Hasim. In 2000 emerges creative urgency that leads him to gradually reduce its use at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to

devote himself entirely to art. His artistic research is turned towards the study of light and colour, through the representation of elementary shapes picked in their natural context, like silos and farmhouses, which materialize the metaphysical anxiety of the artist. The landscapes of the roman artist, often represented in a rarefied dimension, acquire the value of symbols, are images of the mystery of life, of the eternal quality of nature, of the coexistence of past and present. The artistic path becomes therefore a search for the meaning of the existence and the human condition.  Mario Corinthios lives and works in Rome.
